Dar Al Fouad Hospital (DAFH) provides world class health care to communities in Egypt, the Middle East and abroad.

DAFH is located in the tourist area of the Sixth of October City, twenty minutes outside of Cairo.

Healthcare providers and hospital administrators from top internationally renowned institutions create DAFH's medical and management teams.

Achievements:

  • First hospital in Egypt, Africa and the Middle East to receive international accreditation by the Joint Commission International (JCI).
  • First private hospital in Egypt, Africa and the Middle East to successfully perform a liver transplant
    • The hospital performs an average of five liver transplants per month, with a success rate comparable to international standards
  • DAFH has performed 7,500+ cardiothoracic surgeries over the past 10 years with over a 97% success rate
  • The UK's Operations Abroad Company endorsed DAFH, after three months of continuous monitoring and auditing, to treat British patients who have been on the National Health System waiting list
  • DAFH is the first private hospital to collaborate with the Cleveland Clinic Foundation (CCF) outside of the US

History:

  • 1992: DAFH founders conceive of establishing a world class health care facility in Egypt
  • 1996: Builders from Egypt and the US (e.g., RBSD, Bovis) begin construction of the three floor, 141 bed hospital
  • 1999: DAFH and Cleveland Clinic sign an agreement to collaborate on technical, medical and administrative functions. They also agree to support an extensive exchange program for physicians and administrative personnel
    • For the past fifteen years, the Cleveland Clinic has been ranked in the US as the top cardiac hospital
  • 1999: DAFH launches hospital services. Within the first year of operation, DAFH successfully performs major operations including cardiothoracic surgeries, neurosurgeries, orthopedic surgeries and bone marrow transplants.
  • 2000: After ensuring world class standards, DAFH expands its specialties to include all major medical specialties
  • 2001: DAFH performs its first liver transplant
  • 2005: DAFH receives international accreditation from the Joint Commission International (accredited for three years)
  • 2008: DAFH receives international reaccreditation from the Joint Commission International (accredited for three years)
