In 1998 and 1999, Cleveland Clinic, Ohio, United States of America; achieved first position in cordial and chest surgeries, with a 99% success rate; accordingly, we began our contacts with administrators of this corporation to seek the possible ways from which we can benefit from their experience, systems, and policies that we can apply to Dar AlFouad Hospital.

The Cleveland Clinic administration had already shown interest in investing in the Egyptian medical market, and executive steps of constructing Dar AlFouad Hospital were taken on agreement that Cleveland Clinic becomes a contributing partner in the hospital, and is represented by a member in the administration board to guarantee and preserve quality. The agreement also states the exchange of medical expertise, training physicians and administrative officers to ensure continuous contact between the two parties.

Administrators in Cleveland Clinic contribute to the hospital designing, as well as setting administrative systems, policies, and medical protocols.

This experience is Cleveland Clinic Corporation’s first of its kind outside the United States of America.

The highlight of the relationship between Dar AlFouad and Cleveland Clinic is the construction of an anti-infection department under the supervision of Cleveland Clinic’s own anti-infection department. This department is periodically monitored every 6 weeks to ensure the prevention of infections of any kind.

A member of the administration, who represents Cleveland Clinic, periodically supervises and monitors the performance of all the medical, nursery, and administrative departments in the hospital, submitting a quarter-yearly report on the level of performance in the hospital to the executive administration of Cleveland Clinic Corporation. In addition, visiting physicians and experts from Cleveland Clinic are invited to Dar AlFouad Hospital to examine patients of various medical specifications and surgeries throughout the year.
