Cardiac and Chest Surgery Department (HCSD)
| Since the inauguration of the hospital in January 1999, and during
a 43-month period, 2400 cardiac and chest surgeries, with a 98.3%
success rate, (according to the American Cardiac and Chest Association
criteria), have been performed. The HCSD has an open communication
channel with The Cardiac and Chest Surgery Department in Cleveland
Clinic Corporation, which allows medical consultation and forums between
physicians from both sides, concerning the latest medical developments
and treatment methods. |
| Surgeries include: the coronary aortas, performed by the traditional
method and the beating heart application; the replacement and repair
of cardiac valves applied by the orthodox method and the limited interference
method; and the congenital heart faults repair and chest surgeries. |
Cardiac Disease Department
| The Cardiac Disease Department in Dar AlFouad hospital provides
exceptional services in cardiac disease and cardiac physiology. Since
the inauguration of the department in January 1999 and until April
2002, 3345 therapeutic and diagnostic tube operations were completed,
scoring an international success rate. 20640 patients were diagnosed
by outside clinics, in addition to 3628 patients that were treated
in the hospital’s Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. The department
provides treatment by the therapeutic tube when handling heart clot
cases, 24 hours a day. The department also provides specialist clinics
for high blood pressure treatment, cardiac muscle descent, and the
rehabilitation of cardiac surgery patients. |
| The department is under the supervision of dedicated professors,
in addition to the consultants from Cairo, Ein Shams and Al Azhar
universities. |
