Dar Al Fouad Hospital is the first private hospital in Egypt, Africa and the Middle East to perform successful living related liver transplantation Surgery. Dar Al Fouad Hospital has succeeded in participating in a program with the liver transplantation team in Kyoto University in Japan headed by professor Kiochi Tanaka, who is considered the father of living related liver transplantation in the world.
After a series of extensive training programs and mutual cooperation, the first two cases were performed in August 2001 and now the cooperation has expanded to other centers in Korea and France which enables the hospital to perform around five transplantation a month, with a success rate comparable to the international standards.
